Well! how did you guys do with it today? What was the weight of it all? Grub, those suckers isn't light is it?...
dude, those things were heavy. I think I left a nut somewhere along the way.
Would you believe it that some dude stopped us driving down the road asking if we would sell him some of them. He met us at the yard and bought three of them off the trailer. We loaded them into his truck and he was on his way.
Never thought there would be a market for these. what the hell do I know.

Hurray!! Hurray!!! We're in the money. Over the span of days and painful hours of toiling over tons of cast iron carnage....Grub and I made our scrap delivery...
http://salrmn1.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/grubscrap.jpg.w300h225.jpg But wait let's back up a bit to the in route scenic delivery through the northern suburbs. This involved heavy traffic,in mid day, through constuction zones and a drizzle of rain. During our scenic journey, while speeding along in bunper to bumper traffic, our illustious convoy (my Toyota and Grubs Yuk pulling the flatbed trailer) we were spied by an Electrical contractor. This gentlemen requested of Grub where he was headed with all our bounty. When told we were headed towads the scrap yard he inquired if he could purchase some of our treasure, Gar!! (in a pirates accent). The contractor stated he had a delivery to do but would meet us at the yard, Gar!! We leisurely traveled on (no real choice due to the traffic).
Upon arriving at the entrance of the salvage yard, there sat the contractor. Well during some fierce negotiations, by yours truly, we unloaded 3 radiatores into the contractors van for some cold hard cash. We then proceded into the yard to weight in and collect our bounty.

Once again wrestling with the iron beasts and swimming in the muck,

We ventured back to the little scrap yard money shack to get our legal tender. We had a scrap poundage of 2040 pounds which netted us a grand total of...(drum roll)..$153.00 and from the contractor $60.00 for a grand total of $213.00..minus back braces, knee braces and hundreds of gallons of for a net of -$0.13 cents :D
Well I had fun at helping make the club some money and helping Slater get some room in his garage.
But somebody please KICK me when I volunteer for this kind of fund raising again.

I might be able to get another load of metal this summer, It would probly be mixed metal and its in the city, would it be worth the trip??? Also I would be able to help load this time since its at work
Just a thought
O Grub still no sign of your nut
Its was hard work, but we have it down now. Would have to see what all you have to junk. If there is enough volume, I am all up for doing it again.

I found a 400-500 pound Bailer Section and a lot of old sinks that I might be able to scrap, I would weight for better weather before taking it
