I?m going to be buying a S3T (teraflex 3" lift) and a sye kit. So I need to get new shocks but Just can not make my mind up. So which shock do you think would best fit my lift? Keep in mind that my jeep is mostly just for wheeling these days and only gets driven on the street occasionally. So it?s more important to me that they perform off-road then have a comfortable ride on the street.
Rancho
Old Man Emu
Rubican Express
Tera Flex
Doetsch Tech
Pro comp
If I forgot one feel free to add it.
Thanks

Unfortunatly the shock manufacturers you listed gear there shocks to street habits as well as trail. Remember too that manufactureres try to fit as much as they can in a shock because they do not know how you plan on using it so in other words you may be going off road but a Baha speeds.
I use Ranchero 9000 adjustables and quite honestly I didn't see any difference in the fancy shocks compared to the chepo
hydraulic shocks that came with my Ruty's 3" lift. IMO our Jeeps are just too short of wheel base for shockes to respond quickly enough. As far as a trail shock I have read the most important object is to make sure that you have a long enoug shock for the lift you install. You don't want the shock to be your limiting factor in articulating off road, and on the other hand don't but too much shock and end up using the shock as a bump stop, that doesn't work very well either.
I would look for the cheapest set that has the range you need for your lift. If you only plan on using your Jeep occationally on the pavement then why sink a fortune into shocks.

For what its worth I have the Tera Flex shocks (for a little over 2 years now) and their still in cood shape. They work, I don't realy know what to look for in a shock other then to stop the bounce.

Like Missiour said make sure to get the right lenghts
I had Doetsch Tech when I was on 3.5 RE springs
Now I am useing Rubicon Extreme-duty Mono-tube shocks with my 4.5 RE springs. I think the rides alot better on the street but that could be the long are too.
