Yup, and it's safe to drink as long as you don't have drugs (legal or otherwise) in your system. Drink a six pack of beer and by your second trip to the little boys room you're putting out almost straight water. Sounds yucky, but it could save your life if you're lost/stranded.

If your lost or stranded I doubt you will have a six pack on hand to drink...then wait to do your thing to get water to drink hrs. later so you can survive.

This is what a lot of illegals do tho cross the desert to get at our borders. They consume mass amount of liquid and then recycle.

You missed the point which is that you can avoid dying from thirst by 'recycling'. The beer thing was just to show how certain liquids can be processed by your body and come out as almost straight water (and it doesn't take most people hours to pass beer...hence the joke about not buying beer but borrowing it). You'll probably have *something* to drink on hand if you're stranded somewhere even if it's just a lone bottle of water or can of pop. Instead of whizzing in the bushes, recycle it back into the bottle/can.
