I plan on attending the TRJC event in May http://www.trjc.com/Events/4x4Safari/index.htm

I allready have some Firewalkers going http://www.firewalker4x4.org/about.htm

This is a good way to get some local clubs together and have fun wheeling.

Pittsfield is a great place to go..it has trails for stock vehicles to heavly modifeid rigs.

Road trip! That's a Thursday, Friday, Saturday. 5 hours from Chicago. Check in starts at 3 PM Thursday. Leave Chicago Thursday AM. Enjoy a nice leisurely drive. Check in. Party and sleep. Wheel Friday and Saturday. Come home Sunday.
Sounds like fun. I'm IN!

Great thats 1 from the club...I am going to be camping at http://www.pinelakesresort.com/

But if people are not going to camp here is a list of local hotels in pittsfield or nearby communities.

If you have never been to Pittsfield then go, GREAT wheeling. And my favorite place to stay while down there is in Nebo.

I wrote to the hosting club and found out that the admission is $115.oo for the driver and $60.oo for the first passenger. That gets you in, guided runs on private land , breakfast, dinner and a jeep wash. You just need to provide lunch fuel and lodging. Sounds reasonable to me.

There may be a conflict with A-May- Zing Mundelein. I hope we can find out before the Safari registration opens in February.

It's likely I'll have to bow out on this. Too many unexpected expenses this year. But like the Cubs fans say, "Wait til next year!"

Nothing quite so glamorous, (Cooter gave me some replacement TJ shafts)but I do need new hubs, and different wheels and a cage, and we just bought Penny a car and on and on and on...

I wanted to, but the budget won't allow it.
