Does anybody know what backspacing I need to run 31s on a 2000 XJ w/3.5 lift?

Missouri, I did a search and alot of reading, and found that most run between 4 to 4.5 BS for what your looking to do. With this setup you shouldn't rub the control-arms or the fenders when the tires are pocket up in the wheel-well. Remember the newer XJ's have smaller wheel-wells from 97 to 2001.

I run 3.75 BS 15X8X15 with 32X11.50 on my 99 with 4.5" plus a bit lift. I have no rub on the control arms at all but I had to cut the heck out of the fenders. I used the same wheels with 31X10.50 and 3" lift on my 88 had no rub anywhere on anything.

Like I said, the wheel-well is smaller. BUT the main problem isn't just the wheel-well size, but in the backspacing. It sits further out of the wheel-well, therefore rubbing or folding the fender up. It's the combination of both, more the backspacing. ;)
